At St. Mary’s, we treat the whole person, recognizing individualized needs throughout the entire weight loss surgery journey. We are committed to ensuring the best possible weight loss surgery results for you by preparing you for surgery, for the hospital experience and for life after surgery.

Weight Loss Surgery Options…
St. Mary’s offers patients three types of weight loss surgery:

  • The Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy
  • The Duodenal Switch
  • Revisional Weight Loss:
Conversion surgery from prior failed bariatric operations, including, but not limited to the VG, Lap Band, the Gastric bypass and older procedures

Are you a candidate?

Why Choose St. Mary’s For Weight Loss Surgery?
St. Mary’s has been a leader in performing innovative bariatric surgeries since 2002 with over 1000 surgeries performed.

The physicians and staff of St. Mary’s Surgical Weight Loss Program have over a decade of experience participating as an Interdisciplinary team.

Our staff throughout the hospital are specifically trained and educated regarding bariatric surgery and morbidly obese patients’ specific needs. They are skilled in working with patients of 500 pounds or more.

Our facility has furnishings and equipment, from CT scanners to toilets, to accommodate complex and morbidly obese patients. We know weight loss surgery can be an effective tool for helping to get the excess weight off and resolve most weight related medical conditions such as diabetes or joint pain.

“In my experience, morbidly obese patients who undergo successful weight loss surgery have a high likelihood of being cured of metabolic diseases and no longer require medications to treat those problems,” says St. Mary’s Bariatric Program Medical Director, John Rabkin, MD.

We recognize the challenges and changes this surgery will have in your life.  Our approach, blending mainstream medical treatments with integrative therapies, will give you the greatest chance at life-long success.

We will be with you every step of the way, from our first conversation to post-surgery support.
